About Education Welfare

The Education Welfare Service

AWFI has a duty to promote good school attendance on behalf of the Local Authority. We work in partnership with parents, pupils, schools and other agencies to ensure the best possible school attendance for each child.

“Education is important to me because I know that with education I am strong. I am aware of what is happening around me, I won’t be dependent on society, I will be independent and society can depend on me as an educated person.”

We provide extensive information on a wide range of educational welfare services to children, parents/carers and schools.
